There is nothing quite as nice as growing your very own herbs in your garden to add to your cooking or salad dishes. Strawberry Sticks is a highly atrractive dual purpose plant for both the herb and flower garden. It has a base branching habit, growing to about 40cm high. The light green leaves on the plant can be cooked and used like spinach. This is then followed by strawberry like fruits along the stems which are very tasty picked and eaten fresh. WHEN TO SOW Late February to June. SOW INSIDE In pots or trays, in a greenhouse at 21-24°C, reducing to cooler temperature as the plants get bigger. Germination will take up to 14 days. You will need to use a good seed compost and ensuret o kee the soil moist. SOW OUTSIDE Once the soil has warmed in spring. Use a good seed compost of moist well drained soil. Ensure they have some sunlight though do not plant in full sun. WHAT TO DO NEXT Thin plants out to about 20-40cm. WHEN TO TRANSPLANT When seedlings are large enough to handle, prick off into trays and grow on. Gradually harden off and plant out from the end of May onwards. HARVEST Pick strawberry like fruits through to autumn. Shipping: Due to the current unfortunate COVID -19 circumstances, orders are currently being shipped within 7 - 10 days.
